It’s Showtime Once Again

Twice a year this newsletter looks at the trade show season and it’s “showtime” once again. We’ll look at large national trade shows as well as smaller regional and specialty shows and how your store can benefit.

Seismic Shifts

Buyers Enter the Atlanta MartBuyers Enter the Atlanta Mart

As we covered before, this summer the Atlanta Market, which is “always” in July, will be instead in June. Specifically, June 9-14. This actually puts it ahead of the Dallas Total Gift & Home Market, which is traditionally in June. Why? Because the World Cup soccer tournament will be in the US this year and Atlanta is one of the sites from June 15 through July 15. That means the Atlanta Apparel show, which is usually separate from the Atlanta Market, will this year be held concurrently. While some World Cup games will also be in Dallas, the multiple themed shows at the Dallas Market Center will go on at the same time as usual, June 24-30.

June will also be busy with shows from Jackson, Michigan, to St. Paul, Minnesota and from New York to Los Angeles and back to Minneapolis.

…Just Getting Started

Though the tentpole of Atlanta Market is not in July this year, there is no shortage of opportunities. Another Los Angeles show is followed by ChicagoSeattle, a specialty show in Atlanta, ANOTHER Los Angeles event, Greensboro, North Carolina, a Dallas specialty show, Lexington, Kentucky and last, but certainly not least, Las Vegas Market.

You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet!

You thought there were a lot of opportunities in June and July, but summer isn’t over yet. In August, there are shows in Biloxi, ChicagoNew YorkLos AngelesMinneapolisDallasAtlanta, and Wilmington, OH; and that’s just the first week. The rest of the month sees shows in Las Vegas (Jewelry) and Las Vegas (Apparel), TorontoSpringfield, MassachusettsChicago, Dallas (again), Atlanta (ADAC), Chicago (Collective—Women’s Edition) and Las Vegas (ASD).

Many of these shows have educational opportunities, such as seminars and informational meetings, plus networking functions and events such as artist signings and awards shows. Check the links to the show websites above for complete information, and remember, OmegaNet/CAMEO EZ/GiftsWholesale.com are not associated with any trade show, so be sure to confirm the dates and other information before attending.
